Reverend Peter A. Evans
Reverend Peter A. Evans
is the son of the late William and Pearline Evans. He is
married to the former Cheryl Rivers and they have four children, Shonda,
Peter II, Kayla and Patrick.
A native of Thomson, Georgia.
He was educated in the Warren County School System and upon graduation
entered the United States Army. During his twenty four years of service,
he has served three overseas tours, attended various leadership courses,
graduated fr
om the Advance Non-Commission Officers School and has
received numerous service awards to include the Meritorious Service
Medal. In 1998, Reverend Evans retired as a Master Sergeant from the
U.S. Army as a Telecommunication Technician, U.S. Army Transportation
Center, Fort Eustis, Virginia.
Reverend Evans was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in 1981 and was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in 1983 by the Lithonia Baptist Church, Georgia. He has served as the Associate Minister of Lithonia Baptist Church, Camak, Georgia; Garlstedt Gospel Chapel, Garlstedt, Germany; Independent Baptist Church, Leavenworth, Kansas and First Baptist Church Denbigh, Newport News, VA. Reverend Evans is the former Pastor of Shalom Baptist Church, Newport News, VA, where he served for more than four years.
Reverend Evans received his Degree in Religious Studies from Norfolk Seminary and College, Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia.
He accepted the call to labor in Colossian's vineyard and was installed as Pastor on May 30, 1999. Using the Bible as his road map, Reverend Evans preaches and teaches the word of God to enhance spiritual growth in Christian love and unity.
As a shepherd of Christ, Reverend Evans' spiritual message is taken from Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
And from Jeremiah 3:15, "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding."

Reverend Evans' unending faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his love to all mankind, and a deep determination to stay Christ centered, will always be rewarded.
